I bought a hat from Target a while ago that I liked the shape of but not the chosen decorative accent. They’d hot glued a half faux snakeskin and half faux leather cord band around the base. That was easy enough to remove but finding the replacement took a bit of inspiration. I finally figured out what I wanted to do, though. I found some black scrap fabric in my crafting area and went to town, giving the hat a new band and bow. But that’s not the best part. I made it so that I can switch out different accessories to dress the hat up a bit more depending on the rest of my outfit. Check it out!
If you’ve visited the welcome page of my website, you’ve already seen that I made some new art to use for social media banners. I’m pretty happy with how each story’s art came out. I’m also excited to share that Dramamancer is live on Kindle Vella! The first seven episodes are live, and a new episode is scheduled to go up every Friday.
This week I made something both pretty and practical. I am very bad about not setting my wallet and keys down in the same place when I take them out of my pockets. To rectify this bad habit, I decided to make a place that they could call their own!
I liked the art I made for Dramamancer enough to try making something in the same style for Shadow-Blessed. I’m not completely satisfied with it yet, but I like the concept. I’m working with. It’s also worth mentioning that Amazon announced that the Kindle Vella platform will be launching in July. Not an exact launch date but that’s better than the vague “coming soon” that they left us with up until now. I’m pretty excited for Dramamancer to go online.
This week was dandy. I was able to stay on top of my blog, which was a big goal for me. If all goes well this week I’ll even get ahead of thing so that I don’t get stressed about my self imposed deadlines. So, I figured out one thing that would be fun to share on here. I have committed to a goal this year of expanding my music library. Towards that goal, I have been scheduling albums on my calendar so that I have a reminders and accountability. This week was more about rediscovering music I enjoyed as a youngster. At the bottom of this newsletter I’ve listed the albums I listened this week and lists of the songs that made it into my library.
I’ve been wanting to start having friends over now that we’ve gotten vaccinated and the first gathering I planned was last night! I had a couple friends over for a Wine and Painting party. It was very successful if I do say so myself. Much wine consumed and much paint applied to canvases. Check out my painting!
I know it’s probably the best art you’ve ever seen no need to shower me with praise though my lovelies. I did it for the love of art not the glory of becoming a tortured but much beloved artist. 😜
This weeks albums:
The All-American Rejects (Eponymous album): I liked 7 out of 11 songs enough to add to my library.
