I love that this homeowner built their Little Free Library to match the aesthetic of their house. This particular LFL is unique in that it is the only one I’ve seen so far that hasn’t had some sort of window. I can’t fault them for that given how stormy the Orlando area can be especially this time of year.
This is the start of my hunt for Little Free Libraries in the 32803 zip code. It’s Orlando, FL but since Orlando is a city built wide instead of tall I’m breaking it into zip codes to make finding them all more manageable. This one was actually a second attempt. I was initially looking for one that was listed as being in front of the Ronald McDonald House. When I got there I found that they’d taken the library down even though it was still on the map.
I found something new for me this week. This Little Free Library is in front of a religious temple. The temple added a Little Free Pantry next to their library. I had no idea that these were a thing but I’m glad that they’re finding ways to support their community.
This week I checked Chuluota, FL on the Little Free Library map. Turns out that there is only one listed on the map. I really like the pink flowers this one has painted on. It looks really well maintained and stocked.
This week’s Little Free Library bummed me out a little bit. It had so few books in it that I didn’t have the heart to take one with me. Perhaps another light to view it from is that it is so empty because the community has been using it a lot but hasn’t gotten around to returning books.
